New Album Update - June 06

Well friends... it's 10.29 pm on Monday the 12th of June. I'm writing to you as I'm listening to the first batch of the first draft of a final mix for the songs.. does that make sense? We landed on a general mix we all really like, and now Daniel has worked his magic and applied those principles to all the songs... so now the tweaking begins. I can tell you that at 10.29 I'm really pleased with what I hear. Like anything, and anytime, I would go back and change a million things. But like all such things, I recognize that it captures a season, and I have to be ok with that. I am ok with that. The older I get, the more I understand that the Lord is all about seasons. And it's good. And I'm grateful.

I had a blast hanging out at the Cove in Asheville, NC, this past weekend. David Lawson of Precept Ministries (www.precept.org) stepped in for an ailing Tommy Nelson and David knocked it out of the ballpark.. he was awesome. We had a grand time.  I had some excellent chances to share our story of adoption in our own home, and to encourage people to stretch their vision and definition of family - I continue to believe that the foster care system in our country could be relieved of much of their burden if the church would rise up and care for the youngest among us here in the states.... one of the biggest blessings of parenting our two sons, who are adopted, is sharing our story and encouraging others to pray about doing the same. And this was a particularly great weekend for those conversations. Interested? Check out www.adoptuskids.org .

Anyway --- the project continues to press ahead - quite quickly! Check back soon for more updates - and for surprises. Thanks for walking with me on the journey - and pray!

With joy -

Steph
